Our large room for the little children caters for children from around 2 and a half to 3 years to their pre-school year.

As children grow with us they soon become ready to enjoy new challenges.

Our little children continue to learn new skills and experiences through structured play and are also encouraged to participate in games and activities.

This group caters for 2/3 to 4 year olds. Our aim is to promote all aspects of child development through play based activities and the continuous provision.  As with all the room we follow the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum Guidance, observing each child and planning activities to further development and skills.

The littles room has different areas of continuous provision with most toys and equipment on low level shelving to enable children to self-select. Practitioners encourage learning through play, allowing children to learn through play is how they learn best and helping them to build self-confidence without forcing them to do things that they don’t wish to. We are also blessed with our own bedroom for those children still requiring a sleep and a dining area for helping those children help them self to snacks and meals.

Each child is assigned a cohort of keyworkers who will monitor and encourage and record their development. Fresh air and exercise are provided during daily outdoor play in their own playground, as well as the nursery allotment area or walks in the local environment. We have weekly visits and activities which include Toddle Up & Sign, and Hartbeeps.
