Toddlers

Our toddler room caters for children from around 18-19 months to around 2 and a half to 3 years. At this age children are adventurers, they are eager to find out more about the world – safely within the boundaries of our specially designed toddler room.

There’s lots to see and do, the toddlers have access to all the same experiences as the older children, but it is carefully tailored to their developmental level.

The room is split up into different areas of continuous provision including construction toys, a mark making area, a workshop, a role-play corner. These areas are accessible to the children throughout the day during free play sessions. They also have free flow access to their own outdoor environment. Each toddler has a keyworker assigned to them. This gives your child the emotional support they need to develop as they learn, through interactions with adults. The keyworker will observe and plan activities to aid development and assist with each child’s needs.

Practitioners work with the children in all areas to help develop their skills. Young children learn to be independent by having someone they can depend upon.

Fresh air and exercise is provided during daily outdoor play in our outside area, as well as visits to our nursery allotment and walks in the local environment.
Our toddlers have weekly visits from Toddle Up & Sign and Hartbeeps.
